Tax Preparation - Personal
A broad knowledge of the tax code has always been part of my investment management and financial planning business, and I have for many years prepared my own and a select group of family and friends' returns. To put that experience to better use helping more friends and family, in 2012 I completed National Tax Training School's respected and rigorous Federal Income Tax Course for a more detailed immersion in tax rules, and then passed the IRS’s RTRP exam. Each year since, I have participated in the IRS’s Annual Filing Season Program, by completing required hours of Continuing Education, and consent to adhere to the conduct and ethics obligations in Treasury Circular 230, Subpart B and section 10.51.

While I live and work in Illinois, I am not restricted to preparing returns for Illinois residents. I prepare state returns across the country, including California. In fact, I take additional Continuing Education programs to comply with California tax law, and am registered with CTEC to prepare California resident and non-resident returns.
Tax Preparation - Family trusts
Many of us find ourselves as a beneficiary, or trustee, of a Trust, often though inheritance or family estate planning, and may be uncertain of our obligations or responsibilities. In general, a Trust may have its own tax-filing obligations, and it is the responsibility of the trustee to prepare the return, typically distributing the Trust’s taxable income to its beneficiaries through IRS form K-1.
Through my practice, I prepare multiple Trust returns, and am happy to include a discussion of your family’s needs and my qualifications to meet them.
